A REAL TASK, MADE CLEARER
Which direction should the designer develop?
Useful visual design feedback identifies the image, the detail and the next action. Frametta supports comments on a specific image version, including a point on the image, so “move this” has a clear reference.
For a campaign concept, group related visual directions. Ask the client to shortlist a direction and explain what should change. Keep the team’s working notes separate from the shared conversation.
FROM OPTIONS TO A NEXT STEP
Give the review a little structure.
Present comparable directions
Upload JPEG or PNG exports of the designs or screenshots. Add enough context to explain the audience, the decision and what feedback would help.
Point to the detail
Reviewers can comment on an image version and place a point on the image. A reply stays with that discussion rather than creating another disconnected thread.
Organize the conversation
Editors can respond, mark a discussion resolved or flag a blocker. Use internal notes for the editing team; guest reviewers see only shared comments.
Record a choice separately
If a direction is selected, ask for a submitted shortlist. Comments and a choice give useful context, but neither automatically creates final approval.
BEFORE YOU SHARE
Make a useful request.
Best for feedback on exported visual options when the next step is a design conversation or an edit.
- Ask about a specific decision rather than “any thoughts?”.
- Give one board link to outside reviewers; team membership opens the wider workspace.
- Separate a resolved comment from acceptance of the whole design.
Available in the local studio
Image and point comments, replies, internal/shared visibility, editor resolution, grouped selection and team roles. Separate evaluation boards add 1–5 scores or abstention. Only the board owner sees live totals; admitted participants see totals after closure while their access is valid.
What is still being developed
Criteria scoring, revision-round management and assigned final approval are being developed. Live website annotation, PDF rendering and video review are not available.

Questions before you start
Can a client see our internal notes?
Guest reviewers can see only shared discussions for the review they can access. Internal notes remain available to editors in the workspace.
Does resolving every comment approve the design?
No. A resolved discussion means that thread was marked resolved. Final approval will be a separate workflow with its own people, rules and file versions.
Can I annotate a live website or design file?
Use JPEG or PNG screenshots and exports in the current workflow. Frametta does not inject an annotation layer into a live website or edit the original design file.
